I travel the world and am truly amazed with the sights, cultures, and people but in my eyes there is no place like home. Benash Reunion 2016 at Platte River State Park. I always take fresh flowers, a few candles, and a pretty blanket or pillow to spruce up the cabins a little. I love the simplicity of these cabins but a little color and the inviting glow of candles always makes it that much better. The park never ceases to disappoint with gorgeous views. We always paddle boat because really why not? .

N summer, the pleasures are simple, in abundance and all encompassing. On Sunday, we headed to Bizjak Farms. At home, while I was making jam, summer permeated the room together with sweet childhood memories and idyllic images of my mom and her mom, both working women, canning and pickling every possible summer fruit and veggie that grows not only in their garden, but also in the gardens of friends, neighbours and relatives. I guess, is rich in nostalgia.

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Scott and Leslie took the next few days off of work which meant we had a lot of time to hang out. Their daughter, Annika, got along so well with the boys. We met at a private part of the lake and the kids jumped right in and started exploring. Trevin and Annika took full advantage of the shade because it was super hot outside. Standing up like a pro.
